About the Authors

Ninja Santa was co-authored by James Nelson with his brother Andy Nelson and sister-in-law Renee Nelson.

When James Nelson was but a little Jimmy Nelson in first grade, he wrote a story called “How Santa Lost his Suit”, all about Santa’s one night of wild adventures donning a ninja suit instead of his traditional red one.

Years later, Renee would discover the story buried deep in a box of old mementos. She couldn’t get the images out of her head and thought what a fun children’s story this would make! So the three Nelsons put their creative heads together, found a talented illustrator to bring their ideas to life, and Ninja Santa was born.
